(2012) Where my math geeks at?

For those of you who have volunteered with us before, you may remember that our math program, to put it bluntly, kind of sucks. But never fear! Super Jane is here! Ha, just kidding. Anyways, I'm pretty much in charge of taking care of the math curriculum for this year so listen up (this only applies to 6-8th grades):
The exact details of how this is all going to go down is not yet set in stone; we (meaning I) are trying to figure out all the logistics. However, what I DO know is that this year, we will actually be teaching the course material before assigning work (yea, it's not just gonna be giving the kids pages and pages of math that they haven't learned yet and expecting them to just do it).

Prior to the start of Ark School, I will be creating lesson plans and preparing everything. What I need are volunteers who are able to actually teach the class (because it's kind of difficult for me to teach 3 math classes at once).

Because the material is from middle school, I am sure you guys are all--for the most part anyways--well-versed in this stuff. It's just Pre-Algebra, Algebra, stuff like that, y'know?

We will be looking for these qualities during the application/interview process. If you are interested in doing this, make sure you let me or Josh know. Anyways, I will keep you updated!

Hope to see you all soon!

(2012) Ark School: An Introduction

If you don't know what Ark School is (or haven't participated/volunteered before) this is a good video to show you an overview of what it's like!
